Daniel Munthe Agger (born December 12, 1984) is a Danish footballer, who played as central defender for Premier League club Liverpool. He began his senior career at Danish club Brondby IF in July 2004, Since his international debut back in June 2005, he has closed 37 times and currently has scored 3 goals for the Danish national team.
Born in Hvidovre, Daniel Agger started his youth career at Rosenhøj BK. In the 12 years he joined the youth team Danish Superliga club Brondby IF.

In July 2004, he moved from youth team to first team, after the departure of defender Swedish international Andreas Jakobsson. Daniel Agger quickly established himself not only as a first team regular, but as one key component in the team that won the Danish Superliga championship 2004-05. Although relatively young, he played with great authority and class under the guidance of team captain Brondby Per Nielsen, and after the first half of the season Agger named 2004 “talent years” by Spillerforeningen (Danish equivalent of the English PFA)
After the successful Superliga 2004-05 season, Agger was called into the senior football team to a 1-0 win national Denmark’s friendly against Finland on June 2, 2005, played a full match. Agger national team spent the next game on the bench before playing full-friendly 4-1 win on August 17, 2005 on England with Per Nielsen, where he was creating problems for the English forwards, especially Wayne Rooney. He played the full 90 minutes in the next two national team games, before injuries sustained in the Danish Superliga 2005-06 season in September forced him out for the remainder of 2005. Only 20 years old, Daniel Agger was awarded the “gift year” Denmark of all sports on December 6, 2005.

Agger selected Volbeat’s The Garden’s Tale as his choice for the “LFC Athens 2007 Playlist” in the build up of Liverpool’s 2007 UEFA Champions League Final appearance.[13]
In May 2010, Agger married girlfriend Sofie Nelson in Denmark. The couple wore matching white outfits for the wedding, before celebrating with a reception at the Nimb Hotel in Copenhagen.[14] Daniel and his wife Sofie, have a son called Jamie.
Daniel Agger has numerous Tattoos including a Viking on his upper right arm, tribal symbols across his upper back and an intricate band around his left elbow.
